How it works.
Two ways to work with Jessica β drop in a contract to review, or pick a document to draft. Here's how each one goes.
Reviewing a contract.
Five steps from upload to a full review β with six features to act on. The last two steps are optional.
Drop a contract in.
Drag and drop a PDF or Word doc, or click to upload. That's all β Jessica takes it from there.
Tell Jessica your side.
Jessica reads the contract and identifies the parties β usually two or three. You let her know which one is you, and she'll review every clause from your perspective.
- Spotted automatically: Jessica pulls the parties straight from the contract
- Just confirm: which party is you
- Switch any time: see how the same contract looks from the other side
A quick jurisdiction question.
Tell Jessica where each party is based and her review gets tailored to your jurisdiction β catching local-law issues a general review would miss.
- Governing law: flags mismatches between the contract's chosen law and where you operate
- Local rules: checks the contract against country-specific employment, IP and tax requirements
- Cross-border deals: highlights enforcement, withholding tax and jurisdictional risks
- Prefer to skip? One click and Jessica delivers a general review β local-law checks excluded
Anything she should know?
Optional β but it's how Jessica gets sharper. Tell her anything she should know, or attach related documents (like a master agreement or your standard terms) for her to take into account when reviewing your contract.
- Add a quick note: anything you'd tell a lawyer in passing
- Attach related docs for context: master agreements, previous versions, your standard terms β used to inform the review, not reviewed themselves
- Skip it entirely: Jessica will still do a thorough job
Six features. One faster review.
Spot risks, grade your position, make edits and respond faster β everything you get back from a single review.
Questions worth answering.
If your question isn't here, drop us a line β we usually reply within a working day.
01Is Jessica giving me legal advice?
No. Jessica is a contract review and drafting tool, not a lawyer. She spots issues, ranks them, suggests fixes and drafts documents β but for actual legal advice, always take your contract to a qualified lawyer.
02Do I need to be a lawyer to use Jessica?
That's the whole point β no. Jessica explains every issue in plain English. If you've ever signed a contract, you'll feel right at home.
03Can Jessica draft contracts, not just review them?
Yes β that's new. Alongside reviewing contracts you've been sent, Jessica can now draft one from scratch. Pick a document from the library, answer a few plain-English questions, and she assembles a finished draft β clause by clause β that you can edit and export.
04Which documents can Jessica draft?
The drafting library launches with NDAs (mutual or one-way) and Services Agreements, with more β including Consulting and Advisor agreements β arriving soon. Every document starts from market-standard positions and is shaped around your answers, so you're never starting from a blank page.
05What types of contracts can Jessica review?
Pretty much any commercial contract β NDAs, service agreements, employment, vendor and SaaS terms, leases, M&A, JV and shareholder agreements. The free tier covers everyday commercial contracts like NDAs and simple service agreements. Everything else is fair game on paid credits.
06When do I need to create an account?
Only when you want to ask follow-up questions on a review, review a second contract, or draft a document. Email and password β under 30 seconds, no card needed.
07Is Jessica accurate? Should I still use a lawyer?
Jessica is excellent at spotting standard issues, surfacing red flags, and giving you a confident first pass β usually catching what a junior associate would. For high-stakes deals or bespoke clauses, run her output past your lawyer. Think of her as your prep, not your replacement.
08Is my data secure? Will it be used to train AI?
Your contracts are end-to-end encrypted at rest and in transit, with unique keys per document. Zero AI training β contractually guaranteed. You own every document and can delete any of them at any time.
09How long does a review or draft take?
Within minutes β whether Jessica is reviewing a contract or assembling a draft. Every issue flagged and every fix or clause ready, so you keep the deal moving instead of waiting days.
10What happens to my documents afterwards?
Every contract you review and every draft you create sits in your workspace, locked and encrypted, until you delete it. When you do, it's gone from our systems. You can also download everything and clear your workspace in one click.
11What if I want a real lawyer to look at it too?
Of course. Jessica handles the first review β flagging issues and suggesting fixes β and you can take it to your own lawyer from there. Or book a live review call directly with one of our lawyers via FD Consult (Singapore and UK only for now).
Your contracts stay yours.
Whether Jessica is reviewing or drafting β bank-grade security, end to end, handled so you don't have to think about it.
Built for confidential work.
Secure infrastructure designed for high-sensitivity legal and commercial documents.
Private by design.
Customer information is handled with strict data separation and controlled processing practices.
We never sell, share or mine your data.
Your contracts aren't a product. We don't share them with advertisers, data brokers or analytics tools β and we don't mine them for insights. The only people who see your data are the ones you've invited in.
Review β or draft β your next contract with Jessica.
Know what you're signing, and start from the right document β in minutes, not hours.
